More updates

New announcements:

The blog what to wear list has been updated

Sam read over the rules of the KAR competition and wanted everyone to know (Even though he HATES it), It states that there are to be no photography or videos during the competition. Please do not jeopardize any of our girls, groups, or studio by violating this rule as KAR guidelines and will result in point deductions.

Just a few reminders...

1. Dancers need to be at the competition 1 1/2 hours before your scheduled time to compete. Please be dressed and ready to dance.

2. Jewelery is available at the front desk. Every dancer needs a rhinestone choker, rhinestone earrings and rhinestone barrette. If you do not have pierced ears, you will need earring converters.

3. Hair is a low ponytail with a left side part (combed to the right with a part over the left eye) with hair around your ponytail holder or use one that matches your hair color, with rhinestone barrette at the top of the ponytail, unless your instructor says otherwise. Make sure to check with your teacher!

4. Please make sure to wear a red or dark red lipstick ( no pinks, nudes or glosses) and make sure your eyes can be seen. Please wear eyeliner and mascara and blush.

5. All dancers should stay for awards and wear "Tammy Jo's Studio" t-shirts, sweatsuits, jackets, etc on stage for awards!

6. If you have any other questions, JUST ASK!

From Sam Beason:

I have been trying to research hotel availability for Regionals. I am concerned with the limited availability of ECONOMY (nicely located) Hotels for Regionals and wanted everyone to be aware that they are very difficult to find close to The Columbus Convention Center (regionals location) and an inexpensive price. There are motels available within close proximity of the competition, but are on the pricey side. My warning, If you do not have a room for regionals by now, you need to find one immediately.

I have reached an agreement and signed a contracts with BOTH hotels mentioned in the previous emails about national competition rooms. The two hotels that I have affiliated us with are: Holiday Inn-City center (downtown location- 6 blocks) and Holiday Inn-Fort Rapids (Indoor waterpark resort). I have 15 rooms available with BOTH hotels (30 total rooms for nationals).
I have attached two files, one for each hotel and how to make reservations for yourselfs. Please contact me, if you can't open the attachments or need me to better explain. Please make your own reservations in your name and the number of rooms you need yourself asap b/c of limited number of rooms available that week.

OPTION 1:
I have confirmed the arrangements with Holiday Inn-City Center which is about .4 mile from the Vern Riffe Center for Nationals competition.

They will give us a Dbl bed Room or King Size Room with FREE parking for $102 plus 16.5% tax.
Here is the link to view this motel:

OPTION 2:
I have another hotel with a deal:
It is the Fort Rapids Water Park Resort hotel about 6 miles from the Vern Riffe, and they will offer us rooms for:

$89 a night plus 16.5% tax without water park passes, or $139 a night plus 16.5% tax which is INCLUDING 4 WATER PARK PASSES to their indoor water park for the day. You can tell them upon checkin when (or if) you plan on using the park pass rates each day. My contact person (Tamala) with Ft. Rapids hotel and myself are working on a shuttle service to and from the competition throughout the days of the competition from the hotel. The rooms they are offering are dbl/dbl nonsmoking rooms (actually 2 Queen beds) or a King bed nonsmoking with bunkbeds (flat screen tv's in bunkbed cabinlike loft/neat for kids). Here is the link to view this motel:

After you make your reservations on you own, please send me an email of where you are staying so that I may record the number of rooms remaining available in that particular block and I can try to send you more information on the hotel itself as national competition time approaches.
